Genshin Impact Devs May be Creating Competition for Animal Crossing
The creators of Genshin Impact and Honkai: Star Rail may be working on a competitor to Animal Crossing. Leaks on the subject are beginning to surface.
Genshin Impact turned out to be a hit that made miHoYo (and its subsidiary HoYoverse) famous. It's no wonder, then, that gamers jumped at the developer's new game, Honkai: Star Rail, which was downloaded more than 20 million times in 24 hours, as we wrote some time ago. This bodes well for the developers' next project, which, according to leaks, is expected to compete with Animal Crossing.
China's answer to Animal Crossing
Leaker, who goes by the pseudonym UBatcha on Twitter reported in May that he had heard that HoYoverse is currently working on a game intended to be a kind of casual simulator. In the comments, he specified that it could be something similar to The Sims, Animal Crossing or Stardew Valley.
This is not the only indication of the game's existence, as on June 21 this year streamer SipSipStefen reported on his profile on Twitter, that the Chinese developer is creating a game intended to be a direct competitor to Animal Crossing. His tweet was deleted due to copyright infringement. Admittedly, these types of leaks are not always reliable, but when they start repeating themselves, something may indeed be afoot.
If HoYoverse is indeed developing a game to compete with Animal Crossing, we probably won't see it too soon, as the aforementioned Honkai: Star Rail was recently released, and let's not forget that the developer is constantly supporting Genshin Impact, so the team certainly has its hands full.
