A few days ago, Genshin Impact celebrated its first birthday. To mark the occasion, analytics group Sensor Tower published a report summarizing its financial results - and they are very impressive.

Between September 28, 2020 and September 27, 2021 Genshin Impact was the third highest earning mobile game, counting combined revenues from App Store and Googe Play. It was only surpassed by Arena of Valor/Honor of Kings and PUBG Mobile, which brought in $2.9 billion and $2.8 billion respectively during those twelve months.
The scale of the game's success is well reflected by the fact that across the first year after launch Pokemon GO earned "only" $1.1 billion, while Lineage M - 1.2 billion. Genshin Impact crossed the billion dollar revenue threshold faster than any other mobile title. The game is most popular in China, with the players there spending $577 million on the game, accounting for 28.6% of total revenue.
