Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth launched on PC. First reviews confirm game runs better than on PS5
The first reviews of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth on PC are very positive. On PC, the title is expected to look and perform noticeably better than on PS5.
Update (January 23)
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is now available on PC. It's worth noting that the series developer, Yoshinori Kitase, confirmed in an interview with Famitsu that the script for the third remake of FF VII is already ready - it is supposed to respect the ending of the seventh installment, and also give players a sense of satisfaction, which, according to Kitase, was slightly lacking in the original - and work on it is proceeding without delays. Of course, Kitase is very pleased with this.
The game's director, Naoki Hamaguchi, mentioned to journalists from Automaton that the option to swiftly skip cutscenes has helped boost the game's popularity. He also added that a New Game Plus mode may appear in the third installment.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, which was released on PlayStation 5 in February 2024, will hit PCs on 23ty of January. Based on the first reviews of the game's PC version, it looks to be just as fun as on the Japanese giant's console.
The vast majority of critics rate the FF VII Rebirth edition for personal computers very highly. So far, 20 reviews have been posted on Metacritic for this edition - the average score is 89/100, which is roughly the same as the title has in the PS5 version (92/100).

What do critics emphasize in their reviews of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth on PC? Some note that gameplay is even more enjoyable thanks to improved optimization, new fixes, and more customization options. The support that allows for fun at 120 frames per second and 4K resolution is also praised. Furthermore, the advantages include the DLSS function and compatibility with the Steam Deck, on which Rebirth stands out with "surprising performance."
However, there are also people pointing out some downsides to the game. According to one of the reviewers, there are few differences between the PS5 and PC versions of the title. Another one regrets that the PC version doesn't support FSR or ray tracing.
Even so, a large number of critics commend the Square Enix game on PC, claiming it is technically and graphically superior to the PlayStation 5 version.
