EVE Online Update Makes the Game More Accessible for Newcomers

The creators of EVE Online decided to make life easier for new players. A story tutorial, among other things, has been added to the game.

IN A NUTSHELL:
  • EVE Online has received the Gateway - Quadrant 3 update;
  • It introduces a series of story missions to the game;
  • They are to help new players in mastering the basics.

EVE Online is definitely not a game with the gentlest learning curve. Players who wanted to go to New Eden had to face very unintuitive tutorials and rely on the advice of other fans. Devs at CCP decided to solve this problem and make their title more accessible for new pilots.

To help with this, the latest update, called Gateway - Quadrant 3, was released yesterday. Its main element is a campaign for new players. Those wishing to begin the adventure with EVE can now engage in a series of story missions that gradually explain the basics of gameplay. Enriching the tutorial with an engaging story is supposed to prevent it from being overwhelming to new members of the community.

But that's not the only thing CCP is doing to expand the EVE community. On September 23, the game will also hit Epic Games Store's catalog. The game's presence in this service is to encourage more players to enter the vast New Eden. On the occasion of the title's debut in Epic Games Store, special events will also take place in the game. Details about them have not yet been revealed.

Other than that, as with every update, Gateway will also introduce balance changes and bug fixes. Many of these involve resources present in the game. More such modifications, which will be noticed especially by the veterans of the title, will be introduced in the next update, that is Quadrant 4. Its release is scheduled for November 21.
