EVE Vanguard Testing Coming Soon for Subscribers
In two weeks, EVE subscribers will begin testing Vanguard, an FPS set in the world of the popular space MMO. A single map and basic mechanics will be put at their disposal.
Announced by CCP Games this September, the FPS set in the EVE Online universe will be tested by players in just over two weeks - specifically, from December 7 to 11. They will face off on a single map and check the basic game mechanics during a four-day testing period.
To participate in the tests, you must have an EVE Online account with a paid subscription, which is not required for normal gameplay. You can sign up here.
Four times the charm
CCP Games has tried to create a first-person shooter set in New Eden three times already. The first of the games - Dust 514 - was shut down after three years on the market, and the next two - Project Legion and Project Nova - were canceled even before they got released. Currently, not much can be said about EVE Vanguard, but it has already gone further than both of its direct predecessors.
The latest work from the creators of the space MMORPG will be very closely related to it. Vanguard is expected to be available through the EVE Online launcher. The gameplay will take place in PvPvE mode and the main goal of players will be to compete for spaceship wrecks and their valuable cargo with other players and AI-controlled characters.
The results of this competition will have a real impact on the state of New Eden through the corruption mechanic, the level of which depends on the state of the world in Vanguard.
Also returning to the new FPS will be some elements from previous shooters set in the EVE universe, such as the weapons from Dust 514.
