Elden Ring Event in Stockholm; Launch Anniversary With Big Announcement? [UPDATE]
On the anniversary of Elden Ring's release, the game's publisher will hold a major fan event in Sweden. A DLC may be announced at the event.
Update
It seems increasingly likely that at the birthday party of Elden Ring we are in for an announcement of something new.
A fan by the handle Ashen One has noticed that the Steam database has made some changes to the profile of Elden Ring. This could be about a DLC or a major update. This is because such modifications have not been made for small patches. So far, this has been done only twice - at the time of the game's release and with the release of a patch adding the Arena mode with PvP skirmishes.
Original message (February 2, 2023)
Three weeks from now, Elden Ring will celebrate its first birthday. On this occasion, the game's publisher Bandai Namco Entertaiment is preparing for the fans a considerable attraction.
- On February 25, the anniversary of the game's release, the publisher will hold an event in Stockholm dedicated to Elden Ring.
- Live performances, contests, broadcasts and PvP tournaments are planned.
- Holding an event just to celebrate the game's birthday seems like a slight exaggeration, which is why some fans suspect that the first DLC will be announced during the event.
The fan speculation makes sense. Even considering how big a hit Elden Ring is, holding such a big event without announcing new content would be strange.
Most of the previous games of this type by From Software received expansions. DLCs were released for, among others, Bloodborne and Dark Souls. Given the popularity of Elden Ring, developing an expansion seems an obvious move for the authors. Of course, Sekiro never got a DLC (which I regret to this day), so giving up on such new content would be nothing new for this team.
Recall that Elden Ring made its debut on February 25, last year. The game is available on PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5.
