The creator of Elden Ring hasn't changed his mind about making a sequel to this hit, but he has other ambitious plans. Hidetaka Miyazaki gave another interview, during which he hinted at the future of FromSoftware studio.

The head of the team that gave the company the Dark Souls series, Bloodborne, and the Armored Core series, has talked about Elden Ring 2 more than once. In an interview with Game Watch, he essentially reiterated his previous statement - FromSoftware isn't currently considering developing a sequel to ER, but "that doesn't mean the studio is denying the development of the 'Elden Ring' brand."

However, for now, Miyazaki has other plans. He revealed that FromSoftware is working on many projects from a "wide range" of genres. As he put it, in the future the studio will "reintroduce itself in many different ways." Some of these projects are created under the leadership of Miyazaki, but not all of them. Nonetheless, the entire team is making efforts to "develop even better games."

We also know that the creator dreams of developing "the perfect RPG game" in a fantasy setting, and his studio's next title will be closer to Sekiro than ER. Miyazaki also suggested the possibility of continuing the Armored Core series following the success of Fires of Rubicon and the classic jRPG. Nonetheless, it's a bit too little to speak of a large genre diversity. So is the developer thinking about some kind of experiments?

It's also worth noting that Elden Ring somewhat discouraged Miyazaki with its scale, which would explain why he isn't currently thinking about creating a sequel. After all, sequels usually have to be "bigger" and "better" than their predecessors (although some devs believe that the trend of huge worlds is becoming less and less appealing).
