Dragon Ball Daima Changed Series' History with One Line
Dragon Ball Daima surprises with a lot of news, and we learned quite a lot of it in the fourth episode, which changed the series' history.
Warning! Below are spoilers from episode 4 of Dragon Ball Daima.
Dragon Ball Daima continues to reveal various secrets hidden from fans in the demon dimension, which is a unique novelty. In the 40-year history of the series, this world is being shown more broadly for the first time. So it introduces many surprising new things to the canon, such as a new way to fuse characters.
However, that's not all, because episode 4 of DB Daima reveals information that has a significant impact on the story of the entire series. It turns out that the dragon balls from the Demon Dimension are the original ones, meaning they were the first ones created by the Namekians. It makes a lot of sense, considering that their race originates from the dimension of demons, from where they set out to traverse the vast cosmos. Of course, the dragon balls from the demon dimension are the first, excluding the super dragon balls, created by the dragon god Zalama, which were created before those of the Namekians.
The fact that they are the first may explain why there are only three, rather than seven, which is already a certain standard. Perhaps the idea that there should be exactly seven of them didn't exist at the beginning and it was developed over time, with subsequent sets of dragon balls.
How powerful are the dragon balls from the demon dimension in Dragon Ball Daima?
The Earth's dragon balls were initially only able to grant one wish, but this changed when they were upgraded by Dende, making them stronger than the Namekian dragon balls. The Namekians were considered the strongest, but could those from the demon dimension be even more powerful?
At the beginning of Daima during the discussion between Gomaha and Degesu, when they were deciding what they wanted to wish for, a statement appeared that the dragon balls from Earth are filled with "white" energy, which is why they won't fulfill a dark wish, such as killing someone. This is a hint that perhaps those who come from the demon dimension are capable of fulfilling even such evil wishes as causing someone's death.
So far, there is no confirmation of these words, as it hasn't been possible for anyone to gather all the dragon balls from the demon dimension. This is related to the fact that they are divided between three worlds from the demon dimension (which most people cannot freely travel between) and are protected by powerful Tamagami, who are very strong. However, it seems that Goku will take up the fight with them in order to collect the dragon balls from the demon dimension, which means that we will probably soon learn about their true power.
Dragon Ball Daima episode 4 is now available to watch on Crunchyroll. It will be released on Netflix on November 8th.
