Does Kingdom Eighties Have Multiplayer? Quick Answer
Kingdom Eighties is a follow-up to the popular strategy game series. Does the game have a multiplayer mode like its predecessor? That's what you'll find out in this guide.
Yesterday marked the debut of Kingdom Eighties, the next installment in the series of strategy games. This time the action of the title was set in a small American town during the 1980s. In the game we control a group of teenagers who try to face the dark power known as Greed. In this guide you will learn whether the game provides muliplayer gameplay.
Muliplayer in Kingdom Eighties
The previous installment of the series - Kingdom: Two Crowns - had a two-player cooperative mode, which was quite popular. Unfortunately, Kingdom Eighties offers only a single-player mode. This means that if you wanted to play with friends, it will not be possible.
One of the developers working on the series spoke out on the matter. In a thread on the Steam forum, he stated that co-op doesn't fit the gameplay premise of Kingdom Eighties. Therefore, it was decided to create a game typically for single player.
"K80s at it's core is a Kingdom gameplay experience. but deviates around after that core and does not play in a way that made sense for coop. Not trying to force coop in allowed us to keep the freedom of the original design that started before Kingdom Two Crowns was released, which stuck closer to the original games design. Also, K80s is and was always intended to be a parallel experience and not a replacement to KTC. It also doesn’t define the future of new Kingdom games after K80s. Hopefully this makes more sense, we promise a worthy experience into the Kingdom franchise regardless if the game is single player or coop."
