If you don't want your screenshots and video clips to disappear irretrievably from your Xbox, you should back them up as soon as possible.
Do you play on Xbox consoles and like to immortalize your achievements in games with screenshots or video clips? If so, we have an important message for you. On January 9, Microsoft will introduce new rules for uploading content to Xbox Network servers.
Starting tomorrow, all screenshots or videos taken 90 days before that date or older will be irretrievably deleted from the system. So if you don't want to lose access to this materials, it is recommended to make a backup.
How to backup screenshots and movies from Xbox Network?
- In the main console menu, you should select "Shots".
- Then click on the "Manage" option.
- The next step will be to mark the materials that you want to keep.
- Once you do this, an option to "Upload to OneDrive" or "Copy to external storage" will appear on the right side of the screen - you will decide for yourself which form of saving to choose.
If you want to protect yourself from the potential loss of your "souvenirs" in the future, you can choose in the console settings for the saved materials to always go to one of the aforementioned places instead of the Xbox Network.
As noted by InsiderGaming journalists, the mentioned changes are part of a new policy whose aim is most likely to reduce the load on Microsoft servers.
