Silent Hill 2 Remake on PS5 Pro Scares with Graphics Bugs. Fans Wait for Update, and Konami Remains Silent
PS5 Pro owners are calling for an update for Silent Hill 2 Remake. On Sony's new console, the game is soaring with errors even in the first location.
It's been over a week since the PS5 Pro launch and some games are still waiting for a proper update. On the special list, there are dozens of titles, and one of them is Silent Hill 2 Remake. Fans, however, are increasingly expressing their impatience, as it turns out that the game currently runs better on the original PS5 or Slim version than on the new, more powerful console's edition.
Silent Hill 2 Remake looks the worst on PS5 Pro
On the brand's official profile on X, there are various entries about Silent Hill, and fan comments are appearing about the PS5 Pro update. Fans are writing about misleading players because the game card in the PS Store contains information about "PS5 Pro Enhanced," while Silent Hill 2 Remake hasn't yet received any patch. A screenshot appeared on the r/silenthill subreddit showing a collection of comments asking about the same thing: an update for the PS5 Pro.
The situation isn't improved by the fact that neither Bloober Team nor Konami has responded to the fans' appeals, and the company from Japan doesn't know when to expect the patch. Players are eagerly awaiting a patch because the game sometimes looks bad, especially when using performance mode. The reason is supposed to be applying the PSSR to Silent Hill 2 Remake, even though the game hasn't yet been adapted for it.
That's why, during gameplay, you can observe flickering images on different surfaces - in the first location, such as the parking lot, it creates the impression of rain. The shadows are also unstable, but the aforementioned flickering is the most bothersome. Some commentators point out that it becomes even more irritating in the later stages of the game.
Unfortunately, the lack of response from the developer and publisher puts the patience of players to a great test. There isn't even a simple message that the patch is being prepared and will be available for download within a certain period of time. For some fans, the situation is unacceptable, considering that the game performs worst on the best version of PS5.
