Fall Won't be So Good for RPG Fans - Banishers Delayed
RPG Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden will not debut this year after all. Studio Don't Nod has explained why it has delayed the game by several months.
If you've been waiting for another game from the creators of Life Is Strange, then we have some bad news for you. Today, Don't Nod informed about the release of Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden being delayed by three months. The new launch date is February 13, 2024. The game was originally scheduled for November 7.
The developers revealed the reason for the delay. According to Oskar Guilbert (head of Don't Nod) and John Bert (director of Focus Entertainmnet, the publisher of the item in question), the delay is a good decision due to the fact that many AAA games are due to come out before the end of the year, leaving Banishers with little chance of standing out from the crowd if it had been released in November.
"We decided to delay the release of this new brand by three months because the market will experience many AAA game launches on PC and consoles before the end of this year. We are confident that the debut of Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden during a less intense period will give the game the attention it deserves."
Several larger items are due for release in late October and early November, including Alan Wake 2, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III or Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name. In addition, there are a couple of other RPGs scheduled for the end of the year that promise to be interesting - these include Dark Envoy, Broken Roads, Warhammer 40K: Rogue Trader or The Thaumaturge.
The main characters of Banishers are Antea Duarte and Red mac Raith - lovers who fight various phantoms and wraiths in the New World at the end of the 17th century. Antea is a ghost herself, so she can use supernatural abilities in battle. The game is expected to place heavy emphasis on choices.
Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden will be released on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S consoles and PCs.
