Baldur's Gate 3's Patch 3 is Here; Patch Notes are a Long Read [Update: Hotfix 7 and Announcement]
Larian Studios has released the third major update to Baldur's Gate 3. Players who have grown tired of the look of their characters, and owners of Apple computers, in particular, will be pleased.
Update
Larian Studios has released Hotfix 7, which primarily fixes various problems with save game files. You can read the list of changes, among others, on Steam. The developers also have important news relating to player frustration caused by difficult inventory management:
"We are analyzing your feedback and preparing additional fixes for the problems you reported. This includes the issue of shared items when dismissing companions, which we are aware of and looking into."
Original news (September 22)
Larian Studios has just released the third huge update for Baldur's Gate 3, which introduces anticipated new features. Among other things, from now on, players can find a magic mirror in the camp to improve their character.
Baldur's Gate 3 - changes in Patch 3
As announced earlier, one of the key changes brought by the third major patch is the option to readjust a character's appearance, voice and pronouns. This does not apply to gender, race and origin - these must remain the same as before.
Another major new feature is the game's full support on Apple computers running macOS.
The developers have also improved performance in the Lower City in Baldur's Gate and assured that they are continuing to work on optimization in the metropolis. In addition, the developers have fixed countless bugs, eliminating issues such as:
- problems with not increasing bonuses after stealth attack to 6k6 at level 11;
- a problem with incorrect color display on the PS5 controller;
- problems with some dialogue options;
- problems with incorrect marking of looted corpses;
- a problem with not being able to use certain reactions in disguise;
- a bug that made reading store signs a crime;
- a bug causing our companions to have no memories of their relationship with us after temporarily leaving the party, such as when they were locked in prison;
- a bug preventing small characters from squeezing through holes in Act I.
You can find all the details about the third update in the list of changes - in abbreviated form on Steam or the full patch notes on the game's official website. Be warned that the latter is overwhelmingly long and - more importantly - does not include spoiler alerts.
Recall that the world of the third Baldur is already available to PC (from August 3 - or from 2019, if early access is included) and PlayStation 5 (from September 6) owners. For now, it is not known when exactly Larian Studios' game will hit Xbox Series X/S consoles - this is expected to happen before the end of November.
