PC is Not Enough; Baldur's Gate 3 Takes PlayStation 5

PC gamers loved Baldur's Gate 3 so much that their enthusiasm was also shared by PlayStation 5 owners, pre-ordering the game en masse ahead of its release on Sony's console.

I don't think anyone doubts anymore that return of Baldur's Gate turned out to be a huge success. So it is not surprising that Baldur's Gate III is currently the most pre-ordered game on PlayStation 5 (via @BenjiSales on Twitter).

Larian's work will be released on Sony's console on September 6, almost a month after its debut on PCs. For some time now, PS5 owners have been able to place pre-orders for BG 3, but the game has no shortage of competition. The new Assassin's Creed, DLC for Cyberpunk 2077, Marvel's Spider-Man 2, Mortal Kombat 1 - these are just some of the titles that are vying for players' interest.

Nevertheless Baldur's Gate 3's Deluxe edition managed to jump to the first place among the most popular games on PS5 bought before the release. The basic edition of the game, in turn, reached the top fifteen.

There is probably no need to explain the reason for the sudden interest in BG3 on PlayStation 5. The new game from Larian is currently the biggest bestseller on Steam and the second most popular game on that platform. The fact that a game focused mainly on single-player adventure achieved this - although it also offers a co-op mode - is an impressive success, which surprised even the developers.

Also impressive are the ratings collected by the game - not only those given by reviewers, who could not praise the game enough. The third "Baldur" has already been rated by more than 110,000 users of Steam, of which more than 45,000 reviews were published in the last thirty days. Almost all the latest reviews (95%) are positive.

So it's hardly surprising that after such a reception on PC Baldur's Gate 3 has attracted the attention of console gamers. Although admittedly, mainly those with PlayStation 5, because Xbox owners will have to wait a long time (at least until 2024 - via Michael Douse, publishing director of Larian Studios, on Twitter).
