Players Disconnect Diablo 4 From the Internet to Make a Portal Between Lands [Update: Bans]
A strange glitch in Diablo 4 is causing players to disconnect the internet to create a portal between worlds and enable characters from the Seasonal Realm and the Eternal Realm to meet.
Update
As expected, Blizzard has patched the vulnerability described below. Community manager Adam Fletcher wrote on the Diablo 4 forums, that the flaw was fixed in the latest update and that Blizzard "has taken action on selected accounts associated with this incident."
There is no shortage of accounts online of people banned or knowing individuals whose accounts were bannedin connection with the illegal transfer of gold or items between worlds.
Original post (August 2)
Diablo 4 players have noticed that if they join a friend in the Seasonal Realm and then disconnect from the Internet for a while, they can log back in there as a character from the Eternal Realm, including all the equipment.
This unauthorized way of transitioning between worlds allows for the use of a variety of mechanics that benefit both types of characters. Youtuber Glitch Unlimited explains this forbidden technique and shows how the players use it, such as selling items for gold to use in seasonal gameplay. They can also pick up and use new legendary items with seasonal aspects.
Key changes in patch 1.1.1
The glitch may have a short expiration date. Besides - given all the restrictions that accompany the operation of both realms - it can be assumed that Blizzard finds it very unpalatable and the company will probably act against those who exploit it.
It is possible that the situation will be rectified by the upcoming patch 1.1.1. Full details of the patch will be published tomorrow, and the patch itself is scheduled for next week - August 8.
Players who make use of the glitched merging of the Seasonal Realm and the Eternal Realm should realize that their items may lose their usefulness just a few days after the patch is introduced. Not to mention risking the wrath of Blizzard.
