Season of Witchcraft in Diablo 4 transforms players into headhunters and make useful changes
Diablo 4 will soon allow the use of witches' powers and introduce important changes, including the announced armory.
Witches will soon join forces with the characters of Diablo 4 in the 7th season of Blizzard's hack-and-slash.
After tests at the beginning of December, the developers shared detailed information about the next season of Diablo 4.
Witch headhunters
As we already know, the central theme this time will be witches and the Tree of Whispers, where the heads of those who dared to strike a deal with them could be found.
However, in the Season of the Witchcraft, someone stole these heads and now they are wandering around the lands of Sanctuary in search of bodies and what they have lost. It seems someone aimed to be the first to evade repaying the debt for accessing the ancient Tree of Whispers' knowledge, and in doing so, also liberated other "creditors."
The players' objective will be to discover who is behind this headless invasion, with the help of the Sabbath. In exchange for support in the fight against Headrotten (completing tasks and acquiring a new currency in the form of exceptionally restless decay), witches will reward players with 25 new powers (divided into three schools of magic) and occult gems that strengthen them.
Players will also have fun as headhunters, (both literally and figuratively), by finding and defeating runaway heads to appease the Tree of Whispers. This will allow for obtaining more valuable rewards, including Ancestral items as part of special collections.
Armory, balance and bonus for returning players
Of course, new affixes will also appear, as well as changes that will permanently settle in Diablo 4. Some of them could be tested during the beta on the Public Test Realm (PTR), and a new Blizzard post reveals what changes were made based on player feedback.
The most important new feature will be the armory. Just a reminder: it will allow for saving character "builds" and switching between them in cities. The improvements to the Tree of Whispers, the welcome bonus for returning players, and changes in the balance of classes and runes will also remain permanent. There will also be another season pass with a bird pet.
The full list of changes will be available on January 16, and the Season of Witchcraft in Diablo 4 will start on January 21 at 10:00 a.m. PT.
