Are you Playing Baldur's Gate 3 in Early Access? Better Delete Your Saves Before Launch
Those who played Baldur's Gate 3 in early access should uninstall the game before the release of the full version. Larian also recommends deleting saves and mods.
Full version of the RPG Baldur's Gate 3 will be released on PC this Thursday. The game has been available for purchase on Steam and GOG in early access for almost three years now, so many players already have the title installed on their drives. Larian has an important information for them.
The developers recommend that owners of the third Baldur's Gate in Early Access should delete all their game saves before August 3 - the release date of the full version (they will stop working anyway). Such people should also remember to remove installed mods and to make sure that they are not automatically downloaded again. After that, you should uninstall the Early Access version of Baldur's Gate 3. Only then will you be able to enjoy the full version of the game.
As Larian emphasizes, deleting old game saves is essential, as it will prevent possible problems (such as file conflicts) that could occur after Thursday's release. Baldur's Gate 3 has grown over several years into a huge production that is significantly different from the Early Access version. The developers will still remind you to eliminate the save files - they are expected to release a complete guide on the subject tomorrow.
Full version of Baldur's Gate 3 needs 122 GB of free disk space on PC - preloading the game is not possible. The exact system requirements of the game can be found here.
Recall that the third Baldur's Gate will debut on Steam and GOG on August 3 at 5 p.m. CET. The game will hit the PlayStation 5 console on September 6 ..
