Bought Baldur's Gate 3 in Early Access? Larian Reminds of Gifts
Players who bought or will buy Baldur's Gate III on PC in early access can expect a nice gift from Larian Studios. On PS5, however, you have to pay extra for it.
When on February 23 Larian Studios announced the release date of Baldur's Gate III, a lot was has happened. We learned that the PS5 version of the game will come out at the same time, we learned the contents of the of the collector's edition and the increased system requirements. As if realizing the flood of information, the developer pointed out in a separate post on Twitter that players who have purchased or will purchase Baldur's Gate III in early access on PC, can expect a nice gift.
If you missed this information, know that it will be a free upgrade to the recently announced Digital Deluxe Edition. It includes the game and a number of such digital extras as an album with concept art and a soundtrack. Its full contents are shown in the graphic below.
While this is undoubtedly a good reason to reach for Baldur's Gate III right now, there is another one that might make you do so. It is the price of the game on PC, currently amounting to $59.99, $10 less than for the PS5 version in the PS Store.
Although Larian Studios promised not to raise the price of the game on PC after the release of version 1.0, that was a long time ago. A kind of "inflationary compensation" is therefore not out of the question. So it's worth hurrying up your purchase if you're planning one anyway.
Let's hope, however, that this black scenario does not come true and all those interested will be able to buy Baldur's Gate III on PC for the same price both before and after the release. The latter is set for August 31, 2023. The title will also be released on PS5 on the same date.
