Baby Yoda is the Most Popular Funko Pop Figure in History
The figurine presenting a character known as Baby Yoda from Star Wars: The Mandalorian has become the most popular product in Funko's history, despite the fact that it will not debut on the market until May.
The vinyl Baby Yoda has become the bigges bestseller in the history of Funko figurines. This achievement is all the more impressive because the toy is only available in pre-order for the time being, and the release is scheduled for May 26.
The toy is sold as "Funko POP! Star Wars: The Mandalorian - The Child", as Disney, the owner of the Star Wars franchise, does not officially recognize the name Baby Yoda. Well, tell that to the community.
The character made its debut at the end of last year in Star Wars: The Mandalorian and turned out to be a real phenomenon. Its popularity surprised Disney, which did not prepare toys with this character in advance. According to analysts, the lack of these on the store shelves during the holiday period cost the company millions of dollars.
Let's recall that Star Wars: The Mandalorian premiered on November 12 in Disney+ streaming service. The second season of the series, which will premiere in October 2020, is already planned.
Finally, it is worth mentioning that Baby Yoda is not the only Funko figure worth waiting for. A series of toys inspired by Cyberpunk 2077 is also planned. However, it has not been revealed yet, when exactly they will make their market debut.
