Andor season 2 trailer has been released, and it hides a few surprises. See what to expect from the upcoming episodes of the Star Wars series.
The highly anticipated Andor trailer has finally been revealed. Viewers have been waiting a long time for the full teaser of the upcoming second season of the hit Star Wars show, and they finally got it. And as expected, there are a lot of noteworthy suprises in it that you might have missed while watching the teaser, so we've compiled them all for you so you can find out exactly what to expect from the upcoming episodes of Andor, which will air from April 22, 2025 to May 13, 2025.
The Revolution Starts Now by Steve Earle
The choice of the song for the trailer seems not accidental. Although after listening to its rhythm alone, it may seem strangely mismatched to the character of the series, but when you listen to it closely, you will understand why the creators chose it. It's a song about revolution, and it perfectly underscores the fact that Andor season 2 will largely focus on the Rebellion.
Season 1 was an introduction to who Cassian Andor is, and an introduction to all the players on the board. Now, on the other hand, Tony Gilroy will show what everyone has been waiting for, which is the activities of the Rebels in the fight against the Empire.
Cassian Andor, as the trailer shows, has become a serious member of the Rebellion who has become involved in the fight against the Empire. He is no longer a lost boy who does not believe in his goal, but a determined Rebel who is willing to do anything to overthrow the Empire.
The Ghorman Massacre
Andor season 2 will lean into the tragic event that took place on the planet Ghorman. From the very first seconds of the trailer we are guided to it thanks to the location we see in the opening scene of the trailer – note the staircase. We can also see the action from the event itself in the 48 second of the trailer. It promises to be a significant theme in the series, which will receive considerable attention. However, we do not know where it will be placed.
The Ghorman Massacre is an incident that took place in 2 BBY. That's when troops of the Galactic Empire slaughtered peaceful protesters, and when news of the incident reached the Rebels and Mon Mothma, the senator publicly blamed Emperor Sheev Palpatine, leading the Empire to want to capture her.
Yavin 4
Yavin 4, the iconic Rebel base, will return to our screens. Despite its immense importance to the site, it doesn't appear often in movies and TV series, so its return in Andor is no small matter. The use of the iconic base seems a natural fit for a series that will focus so much on the Rebellion's activities. And importantly, we see Cassian Andor himself at the base, which only underscores the fact that it should receive more attention since we see main character there.
Cassian in the outfit in which he dies in Rogue One
If you got the impression that one of the outfits worn by Cassian Andor in the season 2 trailer looks familiar, you weren't wrong. It's the same shirt and jacket the Rogue One character was wearing when he died. The use of this costume shows how the two productions are connected, after all, Andor season 2 is set to end exactly as Rogue One begins.
Cassian Andor and Bix Caleen reunion
Andor promised Bix Caleen at the end of season 1 that he would find her and they would meet again, and as the trailer proves, he kept his word. Cassian's longtime friend will apparently be helping him fight the Empire on the side of the Rebels, as we see her in scenes that hint at Rebel activity, like with the theft of the TIE fighters.
The stealing of the TIE fighters seems to be one of the first storylines in the series – perhaps we'll see it in the first or second batch of episodes. It may be intended to introduce viewers to Andor's activities as a Rebel and to connect him with his friends, Bix and Brasso, who will be there as shown in the trailer.
Director Krennic
Some fans may have been disappointed by Director Krennic's absence in season 1 of Andor, but their patience will pay off, as he will return in season 2, the trailer confirmed, showing him in the 36 second. The villain will oversee the construction of the Death Star.
Death Star
Speaking of the Death Star, it too will appear in Andor season 2. The weapon, which has become one of the symbols of Star Wars, had to appear in the upcoming episodes of the hit series, as according to the timeline of the Star Wars, it will be in the final stages of construction and will be like a harbinger of what's to come in Rogue One.
K-2SO
Ever since the Cassian Andor series was announced, fans have been wondering if the much-loved droid K-2SO would be in it. Unfortunately, he was missing from season 1, which gave us another adorable droid, however, the return of K-2SO was still eagerly awaited. And it's finally coming, and the trailer gave us our first glimpse of him – pause the trailer at 1 minute and 4 seconds for a closer look.
For those who have forgotten or don't know, K-2SO is the droid that Cassian Andor worked with during Rogue One.
Mon Mothma's daughter's wedding
Apparently, Leida is indeed marrying Sculdun's son. This is indicated by scenes from the trailer. Among others, the one where Davo Sculdun and his wife meet the Mothmas in a luxury apartment on Coruscant. And also the one where Mon Mothma and a bunch of girls dressed in Chandrilan costumes dance.
In season 1, Mon Mothma struggled with the culture and traditions of her homeland, highlighted by her experience with her daughter, who turned out to be more of a traditionalist than her mother expected or wanted. So we can guess that her daughter's wedding will be one of the more important storylines for Mon Mothma in season 2 of Andor.
Saw Gerrera
Saw Gerrera is already an iconic character who has been running through various Star Wars productions, and as the Andor season 2 trailer showed, he won't be missed here either. He will probably serve as another bridge between Andor and Rogue One, where he also played a role. And he won't be irrelevant in the upcoming episodes either – one of Star Wars' most intense warriors is ready to motivate others to fight, which he does at the end of the trailer.
Cassian undercover
It looks like Andor in season 2 will get a chance to go undercover, thus infiltrating the Empire. This is indicated by his changed, dapper appearance, which is the complete opposite of his traditional version.
