Alan Wake 2 Expects Major Patches With New Content
Sam Lake from Remedy confirmed that Alan Wake 2 will receive not only paid DLCs after its release, but also free updates with new content.
The EGX London trade show took place this past weekend. Developers from Remedy appeared at it, and lead designer Sam Lake talked a bit about the team's plans for the development of Alan Wake 2 after its release.
- Thanks to this, we learned that Alan Wake 2 will receive additional content both in the form of major free updates and paid DLCs.
- Such information comes as no surprise, but it's worth noting, as this is the first time Remedy has confirmed that it has plans for new free content for Alan Wake 2.
- Unfortunately, for now the developers were not ready to reveal any details about these DLCs and updates.
This approach to game development is reminiscent of what we saw with Remedy's previous game, i.e. Control. The game, released in 2019, received two paid DLCs in the form of The Foundation and AWE, as well as patches with new content that introduced, among other things the Expedition mode.
Alan Wake 2 will make its debut on October 27, this year. The game will be released simultaneously on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S, and the developers recently admitted that they have a lot of problems with the last of these platforms, and therefore the game will spread its wings only on the other devices.
