In mid-November of the previous year, Remedy Entertainment held an event where they presented, among other details, a financial analysis of the studio. At that time, we learned that Alan Wake 2 had sold 1.8 million copies, but it still hadn't started making a profit, although it was close to doing so. Now we have received updated data.

Alan Wake 2 started to make money

Remedy announced that by the end of 2024, sales of the game Alan Wake 2 had exceeded 2 million copies. It means that the game has covered its development costs, and every subsequent copy that reaches the players will bring profit to the studio.

Alan Wake 2 was released on October 27, 2023, so the title needed just over a year for this. Sam Lake, on the other hand, isn't overly worried about it, as he states the studio will continue to focus on making "exceptional games."

Remedy also confirmed that work on FBC: Firebreak is still ongoing. If you don't know, this is a cooperative FPS for up to three players, set in the Control universe. The title is set to be released later this year, although the exact date isn't known.

The situation is similar with Max Payne Remake, which consists of the first two installments of the series following a comprehensive refresh. Nothing has changed here and the games are still in the "full production" phase, as announced in August last year.

We also received confirmation that Control 2 will exit the pre-production phase at the end of this month. Then the work on the game will start in full swing.
