According to Renowned Analyst, Lots Depends on GTA 6. „There's Probably Never Been a More Important Thing to Ever Release in the Industry”
Mat Piscatella once again shared his thoughts on GTA 6. According to the expert, the release of Rockstar Games' game should boost the entire industry.
Day after day, month after month, we are consistently getting closer to the release of GTA 6. The latest installment of the hit series from Rockstar Games studio is probably the most anticipated title in history, not only by players, but also by industry representatives. Mat Piscatella claims that the future of the whole market will rely on this game.
An experienced analyst of the Circana group (formerly NPD), although he also had a minor mishap, recently gave an interview to GamesIndustry.biz, in which he analyzed the current situation of the gaming industry. Piscatella noted during the discussion that while 2024 may be challenging and painful due to the lack of groundbreaking premieres, the industry is expected to revive next year with productions such as Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, Pokemon Legends: Z-A, and Grand Theft Auto VI. The analyst puts his greatest hope in this last game, claiming that it will probably be the most important premiere in the history of gaming.
This is going to be a tough year, but if you look towards 2025, if interest rates come down and money becomes a little bit more free-flowing to devs and pubs, we should get a boost in the development cycle again. We're going to get a renewed batch of interest with GTA 6 in particular. There's probably never been a more important thing to ever release in the industry, so no pressure -- he explained.
This isn't the first time Piscatella has commented on GTA 6. Last month, an analyst stated that the success of GTA 6 is in the interest of the entire market.
It's hard not to agree with his words. "The Six" arouses great interest. The game trailer from last year quickly became the most-watched content on Rockstar Games' YouTube channel within just one day of its release. So, the next installment of the gangster series has a genuine opportunity to surpass the records of the still popular Grand Theft Auto V.
GTA VI will be released in 2025 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
