This page of our guide explains how to quickly earn money in Need for Speed Unbound's story mode.
First steps and second car
Each time a day ends, spend your earned money on upgrading your current car. You must win races in order to earn money. Special tasks during which you travel around the city in someone else's cars are especially worthwhile early in the game. The reward is near-guaranteed, as you won't encounter any opponents or the police, while getting an opportunity to familliarize yourself with new vehicles.
Getting a second vehicle is also a good investment. Do so only once you can reliably win races with your first Tier A car. Buying a second car, belonging to Tier B, will let you participate in more races every day. Sometimes Tier B races can reward you with more cash than Tier A races.
In extreme cases you can also modify the car's aerodynamic downforce to lower or raise its tier by a few points, thus qualifying for a different class.
After spending about an hour beating the prologue (while already owning a new car), many night races will offer at least one option which can get you over 10,000$ - prioritize these races and skip most of the unprofitable ones. Don't worry about the calendar.
When analyzing cash rewards make sure to check prizes for specific places (if you're unable to reliably win every race) and compare them to the entry fee you must pay to compete in the race - you won't get this money back.
Additional events
Occasionally you'll encounter races with cars as rewards - prepare well for them, as you won't be able to retry them and you will lose the entry fee.
Betting on races
You can earn more money by betting before each race - choose another driver and bet whether you'll finish the race before or after them. They'll serve as your main opponent during the race. If you beat them, you'll gain money - if you lose, you'll lose money.
