Minefields | Activities Mad Max Guide
Last update: 11 May 2016
Minefields are small territories with mines placed on them. They aren't visible on the map until you drive very close to such field. A way to find them from larger distance is to travel using the Chum's Buggy. It becomes available after completing the Dinki-Di side mission - the dog met at the beginning of the game is able to detect mines.
When traveling using the Buggy, the dog will start barking from larger distance, pointing you towards a Minefield. You must keep attention to the behavior of the animal. He will be barking whenever he sniffs mines. The direction where the dog is turned is also the direction where you should go. Driving close enough will unlock the Minefield on your map. Uncovering the field is also possible when traveling with a different car, in that case you must get very close to it.
Chum's buggy is also needed when disarming the Minefields. The dog will not only find the whole territory, he can also locate single mines. The modus operandi on the Minefield is similar - the dog keeps barking and his head will point the direction where the mine can be found. You should move carefully, as driving into a mine will cause an explosion. When you will be few meters from the mine, your dog will change the way he barks and a mine will be found on the ground. Slowly following the dog is the only way to safely find mines. After finding the explosive, walk close, and Max will disarm it (interaction button). Finding all the mines will clean the Minefield - it will disappear from the map window.
