Combat in Just Cause 4 Just Cause 4 Guide and Walkthrough
Last update: 12 December 2018
Combat in Just Cause 4 is the main element of the game. In practically every task you will have to deal with a large number of enemies. Travelling without a specific destination in mind also often ends up with a fight, because the whole world is riddled with enemy outposts. It is therefore advisable to ask the question - how to fight in Just Cause 4? In this section, you will learn how to eliminate your opponents; we've also included some valuable tips on how to fight.
- Use the Grappling Hook
- How to regenerate health?
- Remember about the variety of armaments
- Use armaments at outposts
- Use vehicles
- How to get ammo?
Use the Grappling Hook
There is no denying that the grappling hook is the best gadget in Just Cause 4. You can use it to pull enemies, and this is especially useful with snipers, who often hide in towers. It's also worth remembering that the hook works well as a "melee" weapon and allows you to kill enemies in the immediate vicinity. What's more, if you add modifications to your hook, you'll be able to attach balloons to enemies in order to lift them into the air and get them out of combat, or attach engines that will throw them straight into a nearby precipice.
How do I get these grappling hook modifications? Check out the "How to Upgrade the Grappling hook" section in our guide.
How to regenerate health?
You can't avoid taking damage during a fight. Of course, it's a good idea to be very mobile in combat to reduce the chance of getting shot, but there's no chance that you'll be able to avoid all damage completely. If the screen turns red, start retreating - then, you will start regenerating your health. If the screen turns red-gray, go to a safe place immediately, because your character is close to death.
Remember about the variety of armaments
You can only have two weapons at the same time, so make sure they are different from each other and useful in other situations. The classic combination is an automatic rifle and rocket launcher - the rifle will be useful on foot and the launcher will destroy enemy vehicles. Of course you can also try other combinations and e.g. first sniper your opponents down, and then engage in more direct combat. <Remember that you can pick up weapons after killed enemies - this is a great way to quickly change equipment during combat.
Use armaments at outposts
Another way to kill enemies is to use their own weapons. Very often you will find stationary machine guns or cannons in enemy stations - just kill whoever mans these weapons and use them yourself. Remember, however, that you are exposed and susceptible to all attacks. Enemies will certainly throw you a few grenades, so don't spend too much time by a rifle or a cannon.
Use vehicles
Since we are talking about weapons at the outposts, we also have to mention the vehicles. Enemies use tanks or battle trucks very often - instead of destroying these, try to pull yourself to the vehicle and capture it. You'll be able to use the power of the tank and destroy nearby enemies.
You can also use your vehicles and summon them to the place you desire. Visit the "How to unlock the supply drops?" section to learn more about it.
How to get ammo?
Repelling waves of enemies will quickly empty your magazines. This is not a big problem, however, as the killed enemies leave behind weapons and ammunition. Just run up to the cartridge icon to collect the ammunition. If the given ammunition does not fit your weapon, replace your rifle with the one lying on the ground.
