Halo: Combat Evolved is a futuristic FPP/TPP shooter that was a launch title of the Xbox console and became Microsoft's first system seller. It was developed by Bungie Software, a studio previously known for the Myth series. The game tells the story of a conflict between humans and aliens that are bent on annihilating our kind. We play as a genetically modified soldier and a member of an elite military unit that was established in order to defeat the alien threat. We will visit many various areas, like forests, swamps, meadows, and alien bases. Halo: Combat Evolved uses an advanced game engine with realistic physic that allows us to use all elements of the game's environment as covers. The game comes with a multiplayer mode that can be played online or on split-screen.

The third installment of the legendary FPS series by id Software which set new standards in the genre’s development back in the mid-90s. The action takes place in a secret research facility of the UAC corporation on Mars, where the protagonist, an ex-marine whom we control, begins his service. Shortly thereafter, strange things begin to happen: the lab comes under attack, the communications with the HQ are severed, and the people we encounter turn into bloodthirsty monsters. It turns out that a space-time portal was opened as a result of an experiment, which led to a demon incursion that we have to repel. Compared to its predecessors from the past decade, Doom 3 offers not only fast-paced and incredibly bloody action but also quite extensive plot as well as a number of horror elements. The game also features high-quality graphics.

An action RPG set in the Marvel Universe. Originally, the game was released back in 2006, but its remastered edition came out ten years later for PCs and eighth generation consoles. The plot focuses on the evil Doctor Doom, who once again tries to execute a plan of taking control over the world, this time by forming an organization of super-villains. When a help request is sent from the headquarters of a government agency known as S.H.I.E.L.D., the greatest heroes arrive to remedy the situation, among them Captain America, Spider-Man, Thor, Blade, Wolverine, the Thing, and Ghost Rider. Before each level, the player gathers a team capable of completing the objective. Then, they begin to exterminate the enemies, and ending the level with a boss fight. The game offers an extensive combat system and the player makes use of various famous abilities of their chosen superheros. As the player progresses, they can upgrade the superheros' costumes in order for them to acquire different, useful combat abilities.

A sequel to bestselling shooter franchise from Bungie Software, which debuted 2001 as one of the launching titles of the Xbox console. We meet old friends from the first Halo, such as Master Chief or Cortana, who now try to protect the cradle of humanity against the assault of aggressive Covenant forces. The game reuses the best features of its predecessor while taking players to a completely new environment, filled with even more interesting and complex locations. The arsenal has been expanded along with list of available vehicles, and the capabilities of enemy artificial intelligence have been significantly improved. Also, the second Halo introduces environmental destruction, resulting in an even more realistic world and forcing players to use various tactics. Multiplayer options have been expanded with the addition of new game modes.

An action game with RPG elements – The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King, developed by Visceral Games in cooperation with EA Redwood Shores, is based on the license of a hit movie by the same name. The game allows the players to assume roles of over a dozen characters known from the silver screen – one can play as Frodo, Gandalf, Aragorn, Legolas, and many others. Player’s task is to destroy The Ring of Power and defeat the Dark Lord Sauron. The gameplay builds on battles against hordes of enemies. All the bloodshed takes place across twelve diverse battlefields – these include Minas Tirith, Fields of Pelennor, The Black Gate and The Path of the Dead. As the story progresses, one can develop particular characters, gaining access to more powerful combos that can be used in all the battles to come. An additional treat, featured in the PC / Windows and home consoles releases of the game, are the cutscenes taken from the third part of The Lord of the Rings movie trilogy, along with the soundtrack composed by Howard Shore. The players can enjoy this experience either in a single player mode, or accompanied by one more player.

This time the action takes us to the titular city of gambling, which has become a hotbed of dangerous terrorist outbreaks. In terms of mechanics, the game is a continuation of the line started in Rainbow Six: Lockdown, where meticulous tactical planning was abandoned in favor of more dynamic action.

An official expansion pack for Doom 3. It was developed by Nerve Software, under the auspices of the base game's creators. Resurrection of Evil continues the storyline established in the core game, once again taking the player to the secret research facility on Mars. It turns out that defeating the powerful Cyberdemon and destroying the portal leading to hell were not the only problems of the Union Aerospace Corporation. Assuming the role of a nameless commando, the player's task is to eliminate the main culprit by the name of Malcolm Betruger, while slaying hordes of monstrous, demonic creatures along the way. Apart from the new storyline and a set of completely new levels, the expansion offers several new types of enemies, two weapons (the classic double-barreled shotgun and the futuristic Plasma Levitator), as well as a powerful artifact allowing the player to slow down the passage of time. Additionally, Resurrection of Evil features four new maps for the multiplayer mode. Up to eight players can meet in a multiplayer session.

The game is based on the exploration of extensive maps and the fight against encountered opponents - however, the game is diversified by uncomplicated riddles and arcade sections.
