Halo 2 Description
Halo 2 is a conversion of the best-selling game for the Xbox console, prepared to advertise the Windows Vista operational system. Master Chief and Cortana, the characters from the first Halo, return, as does the evil civilization of Covenant. As the main protagonist, Master Chief is given the task of saving the Earth from a threat of alien invasion.
The sequel introduces many features that were absent from the first Halo. Halo 2 for PC and XBX features completely new visuals and environment with many interesting locations. The game’s world is now more interactive than before, allowing for environmental destruction. This leads to an even higher degree of realism and opens new tactical options: windows, doors, and columns can be shattered completely, and enemy’s units are well aware of that, posing more threat than before. Foes in Halo 2 will do anything to get to the protagonist to end him once and for all. To defend himself, the hero can destroy sources of light to hide in shaded areas, and guerilla tactics are sometimes a better option than direct combat.
The game offers many types of weapons and vehicles, with our hero being able to hold two deadly toys at the same time. The hero can use e.g. Battle Rifle (a modified version of the typical rifle, with improved accuracy and range but reduced rate of fire), an SMG that spits out bullets with amazing speed, beam sniper rifles, and even an Energy Sword (deadly effective in melee).
Halo 2 for PC and XBX also features multiplayer, assuring thrilling games with other players in modes known from the first Halo, like Oddball, Race, Slayer, CTF, and others. Halo 2 supports the maximum of 16 players per game, providing detailed statistics, and a clan system. Compared to the original version, the game has been given new multiplayer modes, introduced in ”Halo 2 Multiplayer Map Pack”, as well as a map editor that allows for creation of custom maps.
