Plot
Stormgate takes us on a journey to the universe with elements of science fiction and fantasy. Attacked by a space race of Infernals, the Earth had no chances. The invaders, who emerged from the stormgates, decimated humanity and almost completely destroyed all civilization, claiming the Blue Planet as their own territory. Hundreds of years later, the aggressors return, but this time humans are no longer defenseless; to face the invaders, they take guns in their hands and operate their powerful mechs.
Game mechanics
In Stormgate we observe the action from a top-down view. Game lets us take one of the sides (we can command humans or Infernals) and gameplay is focused on well-known and popular scheme. We gather resources and build a base, as well as recruit units (from infantry to the aforementioned mechs), which we then send into battle. In dynamic battles, in which hundreds of units take part, we have to show a tactical sense and skillfully use the strengths of our subordinates and weaknesses of the opponents.
Game modes
Stormgate offers an extensive story campaign, which can be played together or in co-op mode. In addition, the game features a special co-op mode for up to three players, as well as a PvP module, which allows for 1-on-1 or 3-on-3 gameplay. Additional variety is provided by professional tournaments and events organized by players. In addition, an editor has been implemented in the game, which allows to create your own maps, missions, units and mini-games.
Technical aspects
Graphics in Stormgate is made in colorful, slightly cartoonish style. The game runs on Unreal Engine 5 technology.
