Trine Video Game Series

Set in a fantasy universe, a series of side-scrolling platformers with puzzle and adventure game elements. Brand Trine was created by Finnish studio Frozenbyte, which previously developed a shooter titled Shadowgrounds.

The first installment of the series, titled Trine, made its debut in 2009 on PC and PlayStation 3. The position was very warmly received by both players and critics (according to Metacritic, the average of ratings given to it by industry media exceeded 80/100), and was considered by many professionals as one of the biggest surprises of the year. In time, the item in question also made its way to other platforms. Fans had to wait until 2011 for its sequel. Game Trine 2 appeared first on personal computers and PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 consoles, and later came to other platforms. In addition, the following year the developers were tempted to add an add-on, namely. Trine 2: Goblin Menace. In 2015, the third installment of the series appeared on PC and PlayStation 4 (and later on Nintendo Switch and Xbox One), namely. Trine 3: The Artifacts of Power. The title introduced novelty in the form of 3D platforming elements, but received a cooler reception than its predecessors. In 2017, a spin-off of the described series landed on store shelves, an isometric action game titled Nine Parchments. For the full-fledged fourth installment of the series, players had to wait until 2019, when the game debuted on PCs and ninth-generation consoles. Trine 4: The Nightmare Prince. The production restored the series to its former glory, and in 2020 it lived to see an expansion titled Trine 4: Melody of Mystery. In addition, 2019 saw the debut of the compilation game Trine: Ultimate Collection, containing all the series' installments released so far. The fifth part of the series, i.e. Trine 5: A Clockwork Conspiracy, was put into the hands of players in 2023.

Nine Parchments is a cooperative action game developed by the creators of the Trine series. The game takes place in a fable fantasy land and tells the story of young adepts of magic. Instead of spending years on studying at the Astral Academy they decide to embark on a journey to find the titular nine parchments that, according to legends, grant their owners incredible power. The whole game is filled with dark humor. Our heroes gradually learn more powerful spells, but, as they don't care much about safety, their actions very often have devastating results for the third parties. Nine Parchments works like a shooter game in terms of mechanics. The action is presented from an isometric point of view and gameplay focuses on eliminating our enemies with spells. The game's complex magic system is based on five elements: fire, ice, electricity, life, and death, and enables us to create all sorts of spells. Nine Parchments was created as a co-op game for four players.
