F.E.A.R. Video Game Series
Created by Monolith Productions studio, a series of first-person shooters (FPS) in the convention of psychological horror. Currently, the brand is owned by Warner Bros. and its development is handled by the Day 1 Studios development team.
The first installment of the series - F.E.A.R.: First Encounter Assault Recon was released in 2005 for PC, while its console ports hit players in 2006 (Xbox 360) and 2007 (PlayStation 3), respectively. Excellent reviewer ratings and good sales results encouraged developers at Monolith Productions to prepare two add-ons - F.E.A.R. Extraction Point (2006) i F.E.A.R. Perseus Mandate (2007). For the full-fledged sequel - F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin fans had to wait until 2009. Later that year, the expansion - F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin - landed on store shelves. F.E.A.R. 2: Reborn. It was also the Monolith Productions team's farewell to the brand. Further development of the series was entrusted by Warner Bros. to the Day 1 studio (which had previously cooperated on the production of F.E.A.R.: First Encounter Assault Recon.), which resulted in the game released in 2011 F.3.A.R.
The action of the games in the series F.E.A.R. takes place in the near future. The plot revolves around the events at the headquarters of the Armacham technology corporation, which conducts research into paranormal abilities. One of the research subjects - Alma Wade, a young woman endowed with supernatural powers, gets out of control and wants to take revenge on her persecutors.
In the first and third installments of the series, players have the opportunity to take on the role of a member of the government's F.E.A.R. (First Encounter Assault Recon) anti-terrorist squad. In F.E.A.R. 2, on the other hand, the protagonist is Michael Becket of the Delta Force unit. In F.3.A.R. the playable character is also Paxton Fettel (the main antagonist from the "one").
The gameplay focuses on two elements - building an atmosphere of tension and danger from supernatural powers and dynamic ranged combat sequences characteristic of first-person shooters (FPS). Complementing the single-player main campaign is an extensive online multiplayer mode for up to 16 players.

A spin-off of the popular FPS game series intended for multiplayer play, which skillfully combined elements of modern sci-fi shooters with characteristic features of Asian horror films. The production was prepared by the Korean studio Inplay, and the work on the game used the source code, graphic elements and modified engine of F.E.A.R. 2. The action of the game takes place between the second and third part of the series and focuses on the struggle of heavily armed troops with beasts summoned by the heroine of the series, the demonic Alma.

This time you don’t play as the Point Man, the protagonist of the first game, but as Michael Becket, a member of the anti-terrorist squad called Delta. His main objective is to arrest the head of Armacham Technology Corporation. In the game you cross paths not only with various enemy soldiers, but also with Alma Wade – a young woman with paranormal abilities, who is directly responsible for the unexplained events taking place around you. The gameplay core in F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin is combat. Skirmishes take place both inside buildings and across the devastated city. In battles you make use of a rich arsenal of weapons – from time to time you can even control a battle mech. What’s more, in order to give yourself a leverage, once again you can make use of the bullet-time mechanics. Apart from the single-player story-driven campaign, F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin offers expansive online multiplayer. Another of the game’s assets is high-quality graphics.

F.E.A.R. Combat is a free game for skirmishes on the Internet and the local network, which was released by Monolith Productions, Inc. in mid-August 2006. The program is no different from the multiplayer mode included in the basic version of F.E.A.R.: First Encounter Assault Recon, but it can be operated without the need for a commercial version of the product.

In F.E.A.R.: First Encounter Assault Recon you explore various locations (the events take place both inside and outside the compound) and fight encountered opponents. In combat you can make use of an array of weapons as well as the aforementioned special abilities of the hero, spearheaded by bullet-time mechanics. The atmosphere of horror is created by the presence of Alma – a creepy mysterious girl responsible for paranormal events taking place around you. F.E.A.R.: First Encounter Assault Recon makes use of advanced physics simulation and sports detailed graphics.
