Bulletstorm Description
Bulletstorm for PC, X360 and PS3 is an impressive shooter set in the distant future of 26th century. Polish studio People Can Fly, known mainly from Painkiller FPS games and PC conversion Gears of War, was responsible for the production.
Plot
One of the greatest powers in the galaxy is the Confederation of Planets led by the charismatic General Sarr. The success of his empire guarantees the activity of elite Dead Echo unit. The players assume the role of Grayson Hunt - formerly a member of that group, now a pirate and public enemy number one. Most of the time we spend on the planet Stygia, which used to be a luxury entertainment center. Managers had left the surface many years ago, giving up the planet to mutant plants, while the survivors divided into many tribes.
Mechanics
Bulletstorm is a dynamic first-person shooter, which features a spectacular combat system. Grayson can kick his enemies and execute long sliding tackles. An important addition is the energy leash - it enables you to catch and pull the enemy. In addition, we also get an impressive arsenal of weapons like rifles and shotguns. In addition to the standard guns, we have fancy toys such as cannon firing explosive bullets that can kicked like a ball.
During the game, we get points for finishing enemies off or for performing the so-called skillshots. For example, killing the enemy will get us a bonus 10, while shooting them in the head will give us 25. If it is accompanied by creative use of the leash and other stuff, the end result will be even further enhanced. The earned points are spent on upgrading weapons. In this way, the rifle will gain the ability to launch a hundred rounds at a time, which breaks all the meat from the bones of most enemies, leaving only a steaming skeleton. Improved leash can hit the ground with such force that it picks up a few enemies, allowing us to safely remove them one by one while they are in the air completely defenseless.
Game modes
The single player campaign can be completed in an additional Echo mode in which we are struggling against time and try to score the most points. An important addition to the single-player matches are team matches. The skirmishes in the Anarchy mode required players to fight off wave after wave of enemies. But it is not for survival, but rather to kill them in a particularly spectacular way. The Players can perform a variety of team attacks.
Technical aspects
Bulletstorm for [PLAT} is powered by Unreal Engine 3.0, which gives it a beautiful and colorful graphics. Rick Remeder, an experienced comic book creator who worked with Electronic Arts on Dead Space, is responsible for the story.
