Ridge Racer Revolution PS1
The second part of the arcade racing game, in which the authors have added some new modes and options. Again, the competition is very dynamic and has little in common with a real fight on the track.

Developed by Namco, the game is the second installment of the famous series of arcade racing games focused on dynamic and spectacular races. The devs implemented a number of novelties in the game, including a multiplayer mode for two people on cable-connected consoles.
Mechanics
Ridge Racer Revolution relies on an arcade driving model, enabling us to negotiate corners in controlled slides and rush on long straights. A total of fifteen cars and three different tracks divided into segments, inkluding their mirrored versions, are available. Along with the progress in the basic mode, we can unlock additional modes, vehicles or the option of racing at night.
Game modes
In addition to the basic modes - the race in which we compete against time and eleven other opponents, as well as the traditional Time Trial - the devs have also prepared several challenges that diversify the game. These include the superdeformed car battles in Pretty Racer and the competition focusing on collecting points for successful drifts. For fans of multiplayer games, Namco has prepared an option to play on two consoles connected by a link-up cable.
Technical aspects
Ridge Racer Revolution adopts, like the first installment, a slightly cartoonish visual style. The title uses a link-up cable to connect two PS1 consoles, as well as the manufacturer's designed NeGcon controller. A unique element of the game is the presence of the classic shooter Galaga '88, which the players can play during the loading screen. A prize in the form of new vehicles is awarded for winning the game.
