A beat'em up and part of a series originating from 2007. PixelJunk Scrappers Deluxe has us playing as garbage collecting robots, traversing the city, cleaning up and dispatching competitors. The game supports local and online multiplayer.

PixelJunk Scrappers Deluxe is an expanded release of a 2020 brawler, part of the series originating with 2007's PixelJunk Racers. It was developed by an indie team Q-Games, also responsible for the previous installments.

Plot

PixelJunk Scrappers Deluxe has us playing as garbage robots, sweeping the streets of Junktown in search of... well, garbage. Along the way, they must also defend themselves against their competitors.

Mechanics

PixelJunk Scrappers Deluxe is a side-scroller. We play as a robot, removing garbage off the streets of Junktown. Time plays a key role, as it's rather easy to lose; both when sorting garbage and fighting enemies. We'll often encounter robotic competitors, standing in our way, preventing us from cleaning up. Combat against them is fast-paced and mostly melee-focused, though we will get to wield some ranged weapons as well.

There are over twenty-five locations to visit, scattered across five areas of the city. As we progress through the game, we unlock new Scrappers, weapons, cosmetics and new parts for our garbage truck.

Game modes

PixelJunk Scrappers Deluxe supports singleplayer and multiplayer, both online and split screen. Players can cooperate or compete against each other in various mini-games.
