Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge is a beat'em up licensed by Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The mutant ninja turtles once again have to face Shredder's thugs, fighting alone or in four-player co-op.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge is a beat'em up featuring Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles characters. The game refers to the TV series from the end of the 1980s, which made the adventures of four amazingly nimble turtles world-famous. Canadian studio Tribute Games is responsible for the return of Donatello, Leonardo, Michelangelo and Raphael, but the team was also supported by DotEmu, to which we owe the resurrection of the Streets of Rage series with the fourth part of the series.
Plot
The Turtles and their rat master Splinter must face another evil plan of the sinister Shredder. It all starts with another robbery by Bebop and Rocksteady, who are apparently collecting parts needed for their boss's next evil plan. Donatello, Leonardo, Michelangelo and Raphael don't waste any time and set out to kick the bad guys.
Mechanics
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge is a classic beat 'em up, albeit with some additions. The action is observed from the side and, as in all side-scrolling games, you move left or right through the levels. The levels are full of a variety of enemies, all eager to pounce on the player characters. Players can respond to the wicked attacks in a variety of ways, some of which depend on the unique moves and abilities of each of the four turtles.
Game modes
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge can be played solo or in co-op mode with up to three friends. A co-op mode allows you to play as a group locally or over the internet.
Technical aspects
The graphics of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge is a direct reference to the 1987 series and classic beat'em ups. 2D locations are filled with characters, objects, vehicles, etc., almost lifelike from the series, but maintained in a pixel art style. There are also many locations well known to fans of the brand.
