Super Double Dragon

Super Double Dragon is a beat'em up and the fourth installment of the Double Dragon series, released on consoles. It was originally released on the Super Nintendo Entertainment System, but after many years, it was published on other consoles by Arc System Works.

Plot

The story of Super Double Dragon is mostly an excuse. The main protagonists are, once again, martial artists Billy and Jimmy, opposing the Shadow Warriors gang.

Mechanics

Super Double Dragon is a side-scroller. The game's stages all take place in different areas, such as casinos, airports, moving trucks and slums. The player must move to the right, taking down enemy hordes by punching, kicking, throwing objects and them, jumping and blocking. Timing a block well will let us grapple an enemy, exposing them to a beatdown. While fighting, we charge our special Dragon Power meter. We can spend it on special attacks, or fill it up fully to become temporarily stronger all-around.

Compared to the original SNES release, the new port lets players choose their preferred screen frame and adjust the game's speed to their preferences.

Game modes

Super Double Dragon supports singleplayer and local co-op.
