Starbreeze, developer of the PayDay series, has confirmed that it got back on its feet being close to bankruptcy at the end of last year. The future of the present and future game from the PayDay franchise is therefore secured, at least for the time being.

Starbreeze and Overkill have changed their minds about the further development of PayDay 2. The developers have resumed work on the game and are planning new paid add-ons.

PayDay 3 is going to happen, confirmed Starbreeze Studios. As for PayDay 2, the game will be receiving support for another 18 months. The next update will also remove microtransactions and add free features for all players.

Intorducing microtransactions to PayDay 2 was not the best move from Overkill Software. After a wave of rage from fans, the studio decided to allow players to obtain paid content for free.
