During The Game Awards, we saw the announcement of Den of Wolves, a techno thriller co-op shooter developed by 10 Chambers, of GTFO fame. In the game we will carry out daring heists in a dystopian vision of the end of the 21st century. For the devs, this is a return to their roots, as the team was founded by developers who previously played key roles in the work on the first two installments of PayDay.

  1. The game is heading exclusively for PC and will be sold on Steam.
  2. For now, the debs are not ready to give a planned release date.

Story of Den of Wolves is very timely. In the vision of the future presented by the devs, the development of artificial intelligence based on machine learning has led to the fact that securing computer systems and the information they contain from hackers has become completely unfeasible.

In response, corporations created an innovation zone known as Midway City, where no legal restrictions applied. The result was the development of a new technology for storing data in people's brains. This made the information stored in this manner inaccessible to AI.

The invention stabilized the economy and transformed Midway City into a real metropolis, where every major corporation has its offices. Players will lead a group of outcasts who engage in sabotage and industrial espionage, hiring their services to wealthy principals.

Den of Wolves - gameplay details

Despite modest information, Den of Wolves should be on the radar of every fan of cooperative shooters.

  1. During the game, teams of four players will carry out heists both in the real world and inside the minds of execs from various corporations.
  2. Before each action, we will create a precise plan of action, and the game will then help us execute it by informing us of the goals we have set.
  3. Large assaults will be preceded by small reconnaissance missions.
  4. In addition, many elements, such as character locations, will be determined randomly.

GTFO turned out to be a real gem and a much better title than the disappointing PayDay 3, so the devs returning to the heist theme is a topic of interest, especially in combination with futuristic setting.
