Developed by Rage Software studio, the game is an SF arcade shooter in which players traverse levels and fight hordes of enemies.
Story
The year is 2463. Dynamic technological development has enabled mankind to travel into space and create colonies on subsequent terraformed planets. Visiting further and further corners of the universe, humanity finally came across another intelligent race, the Charva. Perfectly developed in terms of technology, having a powerful military base, the aliens declared war on humanity. After successive lost battles, in the face of the growing threat to the Earth, human scientists decided to act. They created super-soldiers capable of confronting the enemy. The player takes control of the members of the Expendables group, sent fight in subsequent colonies attacked by Charva.
Mechanics
Millennium Soldier: Expendable is a dynamic arcade shooter with a TPP view, in which heroes move up the screen and fight hundreds of enemies. Each cyborg can have three weapons with them at any given time, taken on missions or picked up from fallen enemies. The devs have prepared a large arsenal, which includes plasma rifles, mine launchers, rocket launchers or modernised rifles. Some of them can be improved during the mission with the help of so-called Orbits.
The game relies on spectacular and fast-paced battles. The controls have been designed for this purpose. The key to further success on the battlefield is to skillfully strafe and avoid dozens of missiles fired by Charva soldiers. Millenium Soldier's replayability is influenced by the cooperation mode for two players, which was also prepared by the authors, as well as numerous secrets and bonus challenges available, among others, in exchange for saving hostages on subsequent maps. An additional difficulty for players is the time, which forces them to complete tasks within the set time limit.
Technical aspects
Millennium Soldier: Expendable is a three-dimensional SF shooter. The story in the game is presented, among others, in FMV scenes. During tasks, we hear dynamic, motivating electronic music playing in the background.
