Legend of Grimrock II Description
Legend of Grimrock II is the sequel to the well-received 2012 indie game. It was developed by Almost Human, the creators of both installments. Although the game remains a dungeon crawler, it introduces numerous improvements, including open spaces, new items, weapons, and the like. The idea for the game was born while working on an expansion for Legend of Grimrock – ; the developers had so many ideas that they decided to create a full-fledged sequel, instead.
In Legend of Grimrock II, we take control of a team of four convicts, who were sent to the island of Nex. That's the biggest change in the sequel, as the game now allows us to explore not only dungeons, like in the predecessor, but also open spaces (forests, swamps, ancient ruins, towers and so on) during day and night.
Legend of Grimrock II sill represents the classic approach in dungeon crawlers. The developers not only introduced new enemies (22 different kinds of creatures), but also dangerous traps and challenging puzzles. The character development system was modified as well. After gaining a new level, you have to select a skill. Moreover, there is a new character race and class to choose from.
The enemy AI was enhanced, allowing our adversaries to use all kinds of tricks in combat and attack in groups. Apart from that, the developers have spent some time enhancing our arsenal of weapons and armor, as well as increasing the pool of other collectible items. Furthermore, using magic is still connected to the rune panel, but the symbols can now be drawn using the mouse as well, which makes the gameplay quicker.
