Action RPG game in which we get to the dark land of Eterra devoured by the dark power. As we play in Last Epoch, we take on the role of a daredevil traveling in time, trying to stop the Void before it leads to the total destruction of mankind.
Last Epoch is an action RPG developed by independent studio Eleventh Hour Games. The title was developed thanks to a successful crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter.
Story
Last Epoch takes us to the fantasy land of Eterra, which is devoured by a dark force called the Void. In order to ensure their survival, its inhabitants hid in an underground city. Fortunately, not everything is lost - the main character, who is one of the survivors, goes in search of the title artifact, which will enable him to travel in time; traversing four different incarnations of Eterra, the hero not only discovers the secrets hidden by the realm but also finds a way to stop the Void.
In addition to the four main epochs (ancient, divine, imperial and ruined), over time we have the opportunity to check out their alternative versions, which we find through the so-called Monolith of Fate so that we can continue the game even after the main plot is completed.
Mechanics
Before start playing in Last Epoch we choose one of the five basic character classes; we have a rogue, wizard, knight, acolyte, and shaman at our disposal. This is not the end of the story as we can choose the so-called master's specialization - thanks to this we can direct the character progression to a path that suits us; for example, a rogue can become a master in the use of melee weapons or an archer, while an acolyte can become a necromancer or battle mage.
There is nothing else left to do but to start the game, during which we observe the action in isometric projection. As we play, we travel through the diverse versions of the land of Eterra and carry out story tasks and side missions, facing hordes of enemies. In addition, we increase the hero's combat potential by unlocking and developing their skills (each of them has an extensive tree of improvements) and statistics, as well as acquiring better and better equipment.
What equipment can be used by heroes is decided by the class of our choice; moreover, individual items can only be found in a particular era - if we want to move them from one era to another, we can use a special cache that exists beyond space-time. Nothing stands in the way of upgrading our arsenal, weapons, and gadgets with the crafting system or getting rid of unnecessary ballast by selling it to vendors.
Game modes
Last Epoch enables us to have fun both solo and with up to four other players, via the Internet or a local network. All of this is complemented by the so-called Cycles, i.e. periodic events in which the devs offer unique tasks and objects.
Technical aspects
Last Epoch features high-quality three-dimensional visuals; the most noteworthy are the special effects associated with casting spells and the use of advanced skills, although we may also like the detailed design of enemy models and the detailed and varied environment.

Shacknews: 7 / 10 by Josh Broadwell
I'm hoping 11th Hour has more in store for Last Epoch's future as well. There's a strong foundation to build on, both from narrative and combat perspectives, and more than that, I just want an excuse to spend more time in Last Epoch.
GameSpace: 8.5 / 10
Last Epoch is an impressive aRPG that features a web of interconnected systems and activities. The game's time in Steam Early Access served its purpose and, rough launch and some rougher edges notwithstanding, it delivers a smooth and enjoyable experience. Not as simple as Diablo 4, and not as complex as Path of Exile, Last Epoch has something for everyone, from the casual dungeon divers to the minmax lovers ready to chase that elusive stat.
