Hooters Road Trip is a simple race in which the player's task is to participate in events that require reaching their destination as quickly as possible. It is worth mentioning that the competition takes place exclusively on asphalt roads, mainly wide motorways. The game could be compared to the Outrun series. According to what the game title suggests, the producers managed to establish cooperation with a famous restaurant chain. However, the links are not very visible. They concern practically exclusively girls working in these restaurants (famous Hooters Girls). As a reward for further achievements, we unlock short films with their participation. A similar patent was used, for example, in Street Racing Syndicate. The Hooters Road Trip was created solely for the needs of the individual player. This title does not offer any network modes.
The player's task is only to reach the finish line. So we do not race against any other vehicles. Due to the fact that races are held on asphalt roads, we have to take into account the presence of traffic. Initially these are only single vehicles. As the races are over, traffic becomes denser and the player has to focus even more on flawless driving. Otherwise it would not be possible to get the highest trophy. It is worth mentioning here that the game is quite demanding as for a skill game. The controlled vehicle can slip into slides, from which it is difficult to lead it out. As a reward for subsequent wins, the player unlocks new machines that can be used immediately. These are both classic sedans, muscle-cars and traditional American pick-ups. A total of 16 carts can be unlocked. They differ not only in appearance, but also in parameters, describing, among others, maximum power, weight, type of drive used, or torque. Visually, the game looks very poor, because Hooters Road Trip was released in parallel for the first generation of PlayStation. In particular, this can be seen on the example of poorly made vehicles, including those controlled by the player.
