NBA 2K25 is a good game when you can find it. The mechanics are solid, even if you do need to be retrained to understand the changes and play the game in the way it wants you to play. However, NBA 2K25 is so bogged down with microtransaction bullshit that it spoils any goodwill that the game comes to the court with. 2K has shown that they care more about pushing Pro Passes and VC purchases rather than giving gamers value for money.
IGN: 7 / 10 by Nico Vergara
A handful of improvements mean NBA 2K25 has a few tricks up its sleeve to be pleasantly surprised by this year, even as many long-term issues continue.
VideoGamer: 8 / 10 by Asmir Pekmic
Micro-transactions aside, NBA 2K25 is one of the best sports games to date. With its variety of game modes and stunning realism, it offers more than its predecessors. This game is a true delight for basketball fans, and if you're willing to overlook a couple of flaws, you're almost guaranteed to get hooked.

The main cons of the game

- Pay-to-Win Model: Many users expressed frustration over the game?s heavy reliance on microtransactions (VC), feeling that it creates an unfair advantage for players willing to spend money.
- Server Problems: Users reported frequent server issues, including disconnections and poor online play experiences, particularly in MyCAREER mode.
- Bugs and Glitches: Numerous reports of bugs, including game crashes, long loading times, and issues with game settings resetting, detracted from the overall experience.
The features or elements that are missing from the game according to users
- Crossplay Functionality: Players expressed disappointment over the lack of crossplay between PC and console users, which they believe would enhance the multiplayer experience.
- Offline MyCAREER Mode: Many users wish for a permanent offline mode for MyCAREER, allowing them to continue playing even if servers are down.
- Improved Optimization for PC: Users noted that despite having powerful PCs, the game?s performance was lacking, suggesting a need for better optimization.
- Less Emphasis on Microtransactions: There is a call for a reduction in the pay-to-win elements and a more balanced approach to character progression without needing to spend money.
Summary
- Overall, while NBA 2K25 has made strides in gameplay and graphics, it faces significant criticism regarding its technical performance and monetization practices.

NBA 2K25 Description
NBA 2K25 is the twenty-sixth main part of a series of sports games devoted to basketball. Similar to the previous installments of the series, the game was developed by the Visual Concepts team. The release of this title was handled by 2K Sports, the company overseeing the brand.
Gameplay
The pillar of the gameplay in NBA 2K25 is playing basketball matches. The game has a full NBA license, so it features real players, as well as existing basketball teams.
Game modes
NBA 2K25 allows us to play alone or in multiplayer via the Internet or on a shared screen. The following gameplay modes have been implemented in the game:
- MyCAREER allows us to take control of a player who is just starting to build their career. On PC's and ninth generation consoles, he has an entire city at his disposal, which he can freely roam around.
- MyTEAM allows us to compose our dream team and pit it against other lineups. As part of the weekly King of the Court competitions, we can compete against teams belonging to elite players.
- In MyNBA, we become the manager of a basketball team, operating in one of six eras, and we strive to inscribe ourselves in golden letters in the history of this sport.
- The W allows us to compete in WNBA matches, fighting for the title of the best female player in history (G.O.A.T.).
- PLAY NOW offers quick access to our favorite NBA and WNBA teams.
It is worth noting that only the last three modes are available offline and the rest require an Internet connection.
proPLAY
NBA 2K25 uses proPLAY technology on personal computers and ninth generation consoles. It provides realistic animations and player movements based on real NBA video materials.
