The fourteenth expansion to the turn-based strategy entitled Order of Battle: World War II. The Order of Battle: Red Storm is the conclusion of a trilogy of add-ons dedicated to the operations of the Red Army on the fronts of World War II.

Red Storm is the fourteenth expansion to turn-based strategy under the title Order of Battle: World War II, and the culmination of the add-ons trilogy, launched in August 2019, allowing players to lead Soviet troops to fight on the fronts of World War II. As well as the basic version of the game, the add-on was developed by The Aristocrats studio and published by Slitherine, a specialist in this genre.

Plot

Order of Battle: Red Storm takes place in 1943-1945. Add-on begins with the famous Battle of Prokhorovka, after which the troops of Nazi Germany have started only to defend themselves. Over the course of the next fifteen scenarios, which are waiting to be completed here, we have the opportunity to take part not only in a number of other famous operations, but also in lesser known battles, such as the Crimean Offensive or the optional mission that allows us to take control of Belarusian partisans.. The addition is crowned by the Battle of Berlin to seal the defeat of Germany and the Soviet invasion of Manchuria to rip Manchuria out of Japan.

Mechanics

Order of Battle: Red Storm does not bring changes to the mechanics known from the basic version of Order of Battle: World War II. Instead, the developers give us new commanders, specialisations and units. On the list we can find: armored cars BA-64, BM-31 rocket launchers, anti-tank cannons 100mm caliber, Yak-3, Yak-9 and Yak-9U fighters and Tu-2 and Yer-2 bombers. The German army deploys PaK 43 cannons, Pzkw II Luchs tanks and Heinkel He 162 jet fighters, while the Hungarians receive Turan tanks, Zrinyi SP self-propelled guns and Messerschmitt Bf 109 and Messerschmitt Me 210 planes. The list of novelties is closed with new camouflage patterns available for our units.

Game modes

Order of Battle: Red Storm allows you to play alone or in multiplayer hot seat and PBEM modes.

Technical aspects

Red Storm is not a stand-alone add-on, so it requires a basic version of the Order of Battle: World War II. The expansion does not bring any changes in the graphic design and sound layer.
