Final Fantasy X-2 HD for PC, PS4 and etc. is an improved version of the direct sequel to the tenth installment of Final Fantasy that was released in 2001. Final Fantasy X-2 was released in 2003 on PlayStation 2 and it was the first numerated sequel to an installment in the series. The game was developed by a Japanese studio – Square (currently known as Square Enix).

The work on the title started after the debut of Final Fantasy X. It was supervised by Motomu Toriyama who also directed Final Fantasy XII and Final Fantasy XIII. When planning the sequel, developers decided to greatly change the style and the tune of the story of the game in comparison to what once surprised and angered many fans. It is worth adding that the port contains additional features that were previously available only in special edition of the original game released in Japan.
