Valkyrie of the Battlefield: Gallian Chronicles is a tactical game with action and cRPG elements. Despite the infantile-looking graphic design, the game requires intellectual effort from us. This is a Japanese product, for the release and production of which the industry giant Sega is responsible.

Valkyria Chronicles Description
Valkyria Chronicles is a tactical jRPG produced by Sega - one of the most famous developers and publishers in the video game industry, responsible for such series as Virtua Fighter, Sonic the Hedgehog or Phantasy Star. The game was originally released in 2008 on the PlayStation 3 console, and six years later it was ported to PC. The game takes us to the times of World War II, but it presents events that did not occur in reality. The action takes place in Gallia, a small country invaded by the forces of the East European Imperial Alliance. Welkin Gunther, leads the characters of the 7th platoon of the Gallian Militia's 3rd Regiment (and later a part of the Atlantic Federation’s army) through a series of story-driven battles that will decide the fate of Gallia.
We start the battles in command mode, in which we switch on the map, showing the full plan of the nearby terrain with marked positions of our and enemy characters and objectives. Clicking on the allied unit, we move to the battlefield and take control over the hero. Battles are fought using a turn-based system called BLiTZ (Battle of Live Tactical Zones), which grants us with a limited number of action points that are spent on movement, crouching, hiding behind covers and, of course, firing at our opponents. By selecting an allied unit, we are taken to the battlefield and assume direct control over a character from third person perspective. Having spent all of our characters' points, the artificial intelligence takes its turn, while we patiently wait for ours.
Each character has different weapons useful in different situations. Alice uses a medium range shotgun, while Welkin specializes in operating a tank. For the duration of a battle, we can field up to ten units, selected before each mission from the pool of available allies. Choosing the right squad can have a significant impact on the course of battle as the skills of your soldiers are designed to complement themselves.
The game features very original graphics. Canvas engine made it possible to obtain an effect that imitates hand-drawn and colored backgrounds and character models. This trick was achieved thanks to the cel-shading technique. The whole thing looks like a TV cartoon, and the explosions resemble those from the pages of comic books.
