DayZ: Frostline

Frostline is one of the full-fledged expansions to the popular post-apocalyptic survival game DayZ. Bohemia Interactive is responsible for its development.

Mechanics

DayZ: Frostline does not introduce major changes to existing gameplay mechanics. Instead, the creators decided to introduce new content. The main attraction of this add-on is a new map - the ice-bound volcanic archipelago of Sakhal. This area has a surface of 83 square kilometers. The whole thing was made in the smallest details and is filled with mountains and frozen lakes. Of course, as befits a new environment, we can find new species of animals that have not been encountered before.

Due to the freezing climate prevailing in this place, survival here is a challenge. Maintaining the appropriate body temperature is particularly problematic. There are also new diseases that our character may suffer from.

As for minor updates, the creators decided to update the fishing mechanics. In addition to this, we can also find new winter cosmetic items.

Game modes

DayZ: Frostline is intended for multiplayer only. This means that while exploring the map, we will come across other people. It depends on them whether they'll turn out to be friendly or hostile.

DayZ: Frostline is a non-standalone expansion and requires the base version of the game to run.
