Crossfire: Sierra Squad is a VR shooter and part of a series originating from 2007. It was developed by Smilegate, the company responsible for the franchise.
Plot
Crossfire: Sierra Squad is set in the same universe as other games in the series, overtaken by war between two paramilitary organizations. One of them is Global Risk, formed by former special forces soldiers, the other is Black List, conducting terrorist activities. We play as the leader of the Global Risk-owned Sierra Squad, our team facing quite a challenge during an unexpected battle against Black List's mercenaries.
Mechanics
Crossfire: Sierra Squad makes use of the first-person perspective (FPP). Enemies, and thus combat, are a common occurance in the game. The player can wield many different weapons, including pistols, machine guns, shotguns and sniper rifles. There's a few dozen guns in total, which we can practice with on the in-game shooting range. Since enemies often outnumber us and use heavy equipment, such as artillery and attack helicopters, we must work closely with our teammates and coordinate our actions to take control over the battlefield.
Game modes
Crossfire: Sierra Squad supports singleplayer and co-op for up to four players. The game features a story campaign, special co-op missions and a horde mode, in which we must fend off successive waves of enemies.
Technical aspects
Crossfire: Sierra Squad features high-quality graphics. The detailed weapon models, atmospheric locations and particle effects accompanying gunfire are especially appealing.
