Strategy 18 May 2017
A standalone expansion to Command: Modern Air/Naval Operations. This time, Warfare Sims offers an engaging universe in which United States and China clash as a result of continuous tensions in West Pacific region. For the United States, a defeat will result in losing the position of the world leader, while for China, an end to its superpower ambitions. The military operations are conducted using previously unseen technology and futuristic types of equipment, including anti-satellite weaponry, high-output lasers, railguns, ballistic anti-carrier missiles, as well as electromagnetic pulses. Aside from the above, we’ve received the ability to conduct cyberwarfare. Cyberattacks can sever the communications between the individual units, making them unable to fulfill their orders. Moreover, the authors have introduced a complex damage system for air units, enabling the individual planes to return to base in order to regain operational capability, as well as the ability to transport units using air and naval units. The single player campaign offers twelve scenarios and four standalone bonus missions.
Command Live: Old Grudges Never Die
Strategy 19 July 2016
The first expansion to the advanced strategy game Command: Modern Air/Naval Operations released by Matrix Games and Slitherine. Command Live: Old Grudges Never Die focuses on the civil war in Syria. The player takes control of forces of either Russia or Turkey and joins the conflict. Depending on which nation the player selects, various tasks will await him. Turkey must protect its air space but can't start the war on its own or threaten the Russian soldiers. However, it can freely bomb the positions of Kurds. Russia’s main objective is to help the Syrian government in fighting against the rebels. The player can start an offensive against ISIS or help the Kurds on the north. Russia can start a war with Turkey and it must avoid giving a reason for NATO and USA to join the conflict. As always, the game is played on a two-dimensional strategic map on which the player gives orders to units.
Command: Northern Inferno
Strategy 22 October 2015
A stand-alone expansion pack for the strategy game Command: Modern Air/Naval Operations - the core game was developed in 2013 by Warfare Sims. In comparison to the base Command, which delivered a global take on modern military conflicts, Northern Inferno reduces both the time frame and the size of the warfare theater present. The plot revolves around fictional events of the year 1975 - the world witnesses the ongoing Cold War and the tensions between world's two superpowers (US and USSR) escalate. The player's goal is to stop the forces of the Warsaw Pact before a nuclear cataclysm happens. Both the visuals and mechanics have not changed since the base game and the creators have focused mainly on preparing a new, extensive story campaign. In order to ensure high level of realism, the creators invited Paul A. Bridge to work on this title - he is both an active officer of the British Navy and a veteran of the Falklands War.
