A Plague Tale Video Game Series

In the games of the series A Plague Tale we watch the action from a third-person perspective (TPP). During the game we mainly direct Amicia - we traverse various locations and follow the story, solving puzzles along the way, as well as facing enemies. In the first part of the series the basic piece of Amicia's equipment is a slingshot, into which the girl can load various projectiles; thanks to it the protagonist can kill enemies with an accurate hit to the head, deprive them of a source of light or turn them into rat bait. In the second installment of the series, the protagonist additionally gained a crossbow, allowing her to kill adversaries with a single accurate shot, as well as learned to use knives, which allows her to inflict silent death on enemies at close range. In addition to hostile humans, herds of hungry rats pose a threat to Amicia and Hugo. As rodents are afraid of light, the protagonists must take care to stay within its range (with which a number of environmental puzzles are connected), while depriving enemies of torches or portable lanterns (which exposes them to attacks from the small beasts).

Games in the series A Plague Tale boast high-quality audiovisual design. Along with refined graphics (especially impressive are the flocks of rats, which in the second installment of the series appear in truly frightening numbers) goes an atmospheric soundtrack, for which Olivier Deriviere is responsible (known, among other things, for the music to such games as Dying Light 2 or Vampyr).
